Opening Keynote for iPadpalooza by Sir Ken Robinson
iPads have become the hottest commodity in the educational technology market and are outselling Macbooks by a ratio of 2:1. However, the rush to purchase new technologies often precedes the necessary planning that’s crucial to their success as educational tools. Effective iPad programs are integral parts of a larger holistic approach that re-imagines traditional classroom practices and dynamics.
What does the successful iPad classroom look and feel like? In writing his "iPad in Education for Dummies" book author Sam Gliksman spoke to teachers around the country to see how they were innovating with technology. In this session he'll demonstrate a variety of ways that iPads can be used to transform education and draw on specific classroom examples that are included in his book.

It has never been a more exciting time to be a good teacher; it has never been more crucial. With some students deciding to "educate themselves" and others falling asleep and disengaged, it falls upon a great educator to know her audience and leverage the tools at her disposal. When students are given voice and choice to discover their world, authentically engaged students are the results. The pupils are awake, the teachers are alive, and learning happens in a fun and exciting environment that everyone looks forward to being a part of. Join us in discovering many apps that lend themselves well to 21st century teaching and learning. Don't get stuck doing old things, old ways, on new devices. Come learn to do (and share) new things, in new ways, on your iOS devices!
Ever get tired of "There's an App for that"? Well the folks on this panel never tire of that. Come watch and learn as these apptastic celebrities battle out for the ultimate title of King or Queen of the App world. This no holds barred event will feature apps that will blow your mind.
